Answer:

Let the breadth be x.

We are given that length is 4m less than five times its breadth.

⇒ Length = 5x

- 4

We re also given that the perimeter of a rectangle is 40m.

Formula of perimeter of rectangle

= 2 (Length + Breadth)

Substitute the values,

40 = 2(5x - 4 + x)

40 = 2(6x - 4)

40 = 12x - 8

48 = 12x

48/12 = x

⇒ x = 4

Thus the breadth is 4 m

Length = 5x-4 = (5*4)-4 = 16

Hence the dimensions of rectangle is 16 x 4

Hope this will helps you.
