Given:

The perimeter of a rectangle=54 cm

The length of the rectangle=12 cm

To find:

The breadth of the rectangle

Solution:

The breadth of the rectangle is 15 cm.

We can find the breadth by following the process given below-

We know that the opposite sides of a rectangle are equal in length.

The perimeter of the rectangle is 54 cm.

The length of the rectangle is 12 cm.

We also know that the perimeter of a figure= Sum of all the sides of the figure

So, the perimeter of the rectange=Sum of lengths and breadths

=2×length+ 2×breadth

=2(length+breadth)

On putting the values, we get

54=2(12+breadth)

54/2=12+breadth

27-12=breadth

Breadth=15cm

Therefore, the breadth of the rectangle is 15 cm.
