Given :

✴️ Perimeter of square = 56 cm.

✴️ Side of square given = (x + 4) cm.

To find :

✴️ Value of x .

Solution :

As we know, if all 4 sides of a parallelogram are equal and angles are 90°, then it's called square.

We also know,

Perimeter of square = 4 × Side

Putting values we get :

➝ 4(x + 4) = 56

➝ 4x + 16 = 56

➝ 4x = 56 - 16

➝ 4x = 40

➝ x = 40/4

x = 10

Now finding side of square :

⟼ Side of square = x + 4

⟼ Side of square = 10 + 4

Side of square = 14 cm.

Therefore, side of square = 14 cm

Given ,

The perimeter of square = 56 cm

Side of square (a) = (x + 4)

We know that , the perimeter of square is given by

\boxed{ \sf{Perimeter = 4a

}}

Thus ,

56 = 4(x + 4)

56 = 4x + 16

4x = 40

x = 40/4

x = 10

Therefore ,

 • The value of x is 10
