Answer:

Both the triangles are equilateral (Given)

Perimeter = 3(side)

Side of Triangle ‘a’ = 8 cm

Let side of Triangle ‘b’ = x

⇒ 3(8) = 24

⇒ 3x = 18

x = 18/3

x = 6 cm

The side of Triangle ‘b’ = 6 cm

Given that the perimeter of two triangles ABC and DEF are 24 cm and 18 cm

Then, AB+BC+CA=24

And FD+DE+EF=18

But both triangle are similar 

Then

FDAB=Perimeter of DEFPerimeter of ABC

⇒FD8=1824

⇒24(FD)=8×18

⇒FD=24144=6 cm
