let's consider breadth of given rectangle as b

then, length will be 2b+2

we are given with perimeter=40 cm

we know P of Rectangle= 2l+2b ...[or 2(l+b)]

now, put given values in above formula

40 cm = 2 (2b+2) + 2 ( b)

40 cm = 4b+4+2b

40 cm = 6b+4

40 - 4 = 6b

36 = 6b

36/6= b

6=b

now put value of b in eq. for value of k

2b+2= 2×6+2

length = 14cm

breadth= 6 cm
