QUESTION

The perimeter of the triangle is 540 mm and

its sides are in the ratio 25: 17:12 find the measurement of each its sides.

SOLUTION

let the sides of triangle are

25x ; 17x ; 12x

then, as given that perimeter of triangle is 540 mm

so,

25x + 17x + 12x = 540

54 x = 540

x = 540 / 54

x = 10

HENCE,

sides of triangle will  be

25 x = 25 * (10) = 250 mm

17 x = 17 * (10) = 170 mm

12 x = 12 * (10) = 120 mm

SO SIDES OF TRIANGLE WILL BE 250 mm, 170 mm AND 120 mm.

Let the sides of triangle be 25x ,17x and 12x

The perimeter of the triangle = 540 mm

Now

25x +17x +12x = 540

54x = 540

x = 10

25x= 25×10= 250mm

17x = 17×10 =170mm

12x = 12×10 = 120mm

Therefore sides of triangle are 250mm ,170 mm and 120mm
