we will take the 3rd side as x

now according to question

x + 23/4 + 23/4 ( sum of sides)=18(given)

x + 46/4 = 18

x + 23/2 =18

x= 18-23/2

x =(36-23)/2

x=13/2

hence the 3rd side is 13/2 or it can be written as 6.5
