The period from 1793-1794 was also referred as the reign of terror b'coz during this period the leader of jacobins club, robespierre was ruling the france. he followed a policy of severe control and punishment.all those whom he asw as being 'enemies' of the republic parties,even members of his own party who did not agree his methods were- arrested,imprisoned and then tried by revolutionary tribunal and the 'guilty' was beheaded by a  blade between 2 poles. that why the period from 1793-1794 was called the reign of terror.
