1793-194 in France is known as the Reign of Terror. This was because the emperor, Maximillian Robespierre, followed policies of severe control and punishment. Anybody whom he thought to be his opposition was sent to the Guillotine and beheaded.

1. Maximillian Robespierre set definite costs for bread and meat.
2. Both of those (bread and meat) were rationed
3. Everyone had to eat whole-wheat bread.
4. Everyone had to address people as Citoyen or Citoyenne instead of Monsieur and Mademoiselle.

Robespierre sought to bring equality in all the forms.
