The periodic table houses noble gas elements in group 18. These elements are highly stable and rarely react with any other elements. What is one possible reason for the stability of the noble gas elements?

Fulfilling the octet rule.

Tahirunnisha: no it is not the answer because the answer is{ because it has maximum number of electrons at their outer most shell so its stable}
adiraghosh: I’m afraid that you’re wrong.
adiraghosh: Or more like partially correct
adiraghosh: stability comes with fulfilling the octet/duplet rule.
adiraghosh: which also means having maximum possible electrons in the outer shell in a period

The reason for their high stability is the completion of the octet (duplet in the case of helium).
