People who do a lot of reading usually suffer from myopia.

What is myopia?

  • Myopia develops when the cornea is too steep or the eye is too long.
  • The retina is the portion of the eye that serves as an image-forming surface.
  • In myopia, light rays entering the eyes converge too quickly and are focused before reaching the retina, preventing the image from being formed on the retina.

Symptoms of myopia:

  • People with reading disorders are more likely to have other learning difficulties.
  • Inability to communicate effectively.

As a result, people who read a lot are more likely to have myopia.
