\mapsto Like layer present around fleshy scale leaves on onion .

  • Water

  • glass slide

  • Onion peel

  • saffranin solution

  • cover slip

  • Microscope

\mapsto Put a drop of water on the glass slide.

\mapsto Place a small peice of neatly cut onion peel on it.

\mapsto Put 1 or 2 drops of saffranin on it.

\mapsto Stain for 2 minutes

\mapsto Put a cover slip on it and observe it under a microscope.
