Answer: The excerpt is taken from Ruskin Bond's "The Eyes Have It". Though the narrator was blind, he tried to act absurdly to impress the girl. Probably he was fascinated by all the scenes created by himself. When the girl got down from the train, a new passenger came into the train and he broke into the narrator's reverie, and he was the one to identify the girl being blind.
