The salt is baking soda.
Nacl+co2+h20+NH3--> NaHCO3+NH4Cl
It's two uses are:
1.as an antacid- it is weakly basic and neutralises hyperacidity.
2. As soda acid fire extinguisher --> it liberates co2 with h2so4, which extinguishes fire.
