The value of HPO4:H2PO4 is - 4:1.

Blood in humans exist in red colour due to presence of haemoglobin. It serves function of transporting oxygen to various parts of the body in exchange of removing carbon dioxide.

Phosphorus too is abundant inorganic element present in body. It serves various functions which include oxidative phosphorylation, glycolysis.

Other than this, it also performs buffering action. For this purpose it is present in the form of HPO4 and H2PO4 ions, which help by maintaining the pH of blood, which fluctuates on addition and removal of these gases.
