The pH of a substance is the negative logarithm to the base 10 of the hydrogen ion concentration present in a substance.

Ф pH of 7 is considered to be neutral .

Ф pH of more than 7 is alkaline.

Ф pH of less than 7 is acidic.

pH of blood is 7.4 .

Hence it is slightly alkaline.

The alkalinity of blood is present in the plasma which has some alkaline substances.
