pH of solution A , B , C and D are 5 , 12 , 8 and 9 respectively.

A base has more Hydroxide ( Hydroxyl ) ion concentration than an acid.

Therefore, Arrangement of these solutions with increasing hydroxyl ion concentration will be:

Solution A < Solution C < Solution D < Solution B

Solution A will have more acidic property because It has less hydroxyl ion concentration and a bit higher hydronium ion concentration. ( Its pH is also less than 7 and least from the following solutions, which makes it more acidic )

If we put Solution A in our mouth that means we are changing the pH of our mouth to 5 that means Our mouth will be acidic. And this acidic environment will soften the enamel and dentine of our teeth and this leads to Tooth Decay ( cavity in teeth )

Answer:

  • A = 5
  • B = 8
  • C = 9
  • D = 12

Solution A has strong acidic property .

If our mouth contains ph of solution of A our tooth starts decaying. Producing gum problems.
