Respiration is Gas Exchange. While pulmonary ventilation is the process by which oxygen enters and carbon dioxide exits the alveoli, respiration is the process by which oxygen and carbon dioxide diffuse in and out of the blood. Respiration is also referred to as gas exchange, and it occurs in two areas of the body.

hey mate!!

the physical process which involves the exchange of gases is called breathing. in breathing we release carbon dioxide and take in oxygen thus exchange of gases takes place. the ribs move outwards when we take in oxygen and ribs move inward when we release carbon dioxide thus it is a physical process.

hope it helped!!
