the physical quantities measure-10 m/s. is it speed or velocity

It is speed. Velocity is a vector quantity and thus it needs direction to be specified too. In the above case if it was given that the quantity is 10m/s towards north/south/east/west, then it would have been velocity( a vector quantity).
