Shiksha04: See, If there is a square field named ABCD and you are standing on point A and you have to go to point C which is opposite to point A , then you have two ways to go to the point C. 1st is that you will first go to point B and then to point C, and 2nd is that you will directly go to point C by walking through the diagonal of the square field that is AC. AC is the displacement as AC is shorter and the speed at which you travel from A to C is velocity.
