Number of Vanilla ice cream sold = 180

Let the total ice cream sold be a

Number of Strawberry ice cream sold = 3a/7

Number of chocolate ice cream sold = 3a/7 + 40

= (3a + 280)/7

Now,

3a/7 + (3a + 280)/7 + 180 = a

=> ( 3a + 3a + 280)/7 - a = - 180

=> ( 6a + 280 - 7a)/ 7 = - 180

=> - x + 280 = -1260

=> x = 1260 + 280

=> x = 1540

Number of Strawberry ice cream sold = 3 × 1540 / 7

= 3 × 220

= 660
