The pilot of the Dakota wanted to thank the pilot of the black plane after he landed safely as he owed his life to him. The writer's values reflected through this desire are that he felt indebted to the other pilot and wished to express his gratitude. He was humble and grateful for the miracle that had occurred.

Answer:

One night, the author was flying from France to England in his Dakota plane. He was really looking forward to meeting his family and having an English breakfast with them. He checked the map and switched over to his last fuel tank. Everything was going well until he saw the clouds. They were the storm clouds. They were huge and looked like black mountains standing in front of him across the sky. Unfortunately, he could not fly up and over them as he was not having enough fuel to do so, nor he had enough fuel to fly around them to the north and south. He decided to take the risk and took his plane straight into the storm. Everything was black inside the clouds. He couldn't see anything outside the plane. His aeroplane was jumping and twisting in the storm. His compass was dead too. He was unable to contact the control room. Suddenly, he could see another aeroplane in front of him.he was very glad to see another aeroplane. He lifted one of his hands and asked the author to follow him. The second pilot helped the author come out of the stormy clouds within half an hour.as soon as he exited the storm, he could see long straight lines of lights in front of him. It was a runway. He was very glad that he could reach the airport safely. Hence, the author wanted to thank the other pilot for helping him out. His qualities that have been reflected are: he was a family-loving person, and he had a sense of gratitude.
