The pitcher plant and venus fly trap are greenplants that can photosynthesize .why do they need to feed on insects?

because only green environment does not help them to photosynthesise

They can't photosynthesise because they don't have chlorophyll, which is necessary for plant growth. That's why they eat insects as their food.
