Given : The planet Neptune orbits the Sun. Its orbital radius is 30.1 AU

To find :  distance Neptune travels in a single orbit around the Sun

Solution:

Assuming Neptune's orbit is circular,

=>  distance it travels in a single orbit around the Sun

= Circumference of circle

= 2 π R

where R  = radius of orbit

R = 30.1 AU    ( astronomical unit)

Distance covered  in single orbit around sun = 2 π * 30.1

using π = 22/7

= 2 (22/7) (30.1)

44 * 4.3

= 189.2 AU

Distance covered by neptune  in single orbit around sun   189.2 AU
