If I was a Tree' is a beautiful poem written by Jeff Fleischer. In the poem, the narrator expresses his wish to be a tree, so that he could be free from pain and any painful emotions.
His roots would nourish him, and he would receive sunlight from above. He also wishes to be a tree in a forest, where he would have so many other tress to be useful friends.
Implying the meaning of the poem, it can be rightly said to be a satire on social discrimination, where everyone is selfish, indifferent and ready to give pain and hurt emotions.
