The king's sense of justice was needed to be rectified with wisdom and common sense because he was blindly following the laws without intelligence. The poem mocks the process of fair trial and proper judgment because in reality things never happen like that the story is about the injustices take place in the name of fair trial and rule of law. And the state which is described in the poem is not the ideal place to live in where things are being done without taking proper decisions.

As at that time there was no system for the justice and judgment. Every word said by the royal king becomes decree. So everyone used to blame others, So there was no judgement just the hanging of people to make the people happy that king is doing his job.
