In the poem 'On killing a Tree', the poet shows the process undertaken while killing a tree. Only a jab of knife will never do the end. Every time the tree recovers. So ,to bring a complete end to the tree, one has to shoot it out of the root.

Through this poem the poet shows the inhuman attitude of human beings. They don't give any second thought while jabbing down a tree. Killing of an animal is a murder but no one considers killing of a tree as such. Through his poem, the poet conveys the message that though trees provide every facility to every living creature but the beast in humans still bring its end only to meet their own selfish end.
