The poem ended with a happy note and it is evident because the poet was able to convince his mother that war or going to fight in the war along with the army it's pointless because war only causes destruction and takes away all the happiness from the entire crowd of people present witnessing even if they win the war it still leaves everybody empty because it takes not only the loved ones but also houses where one can live.

• The poet's mother wanted him to go for the war show that she can feel proud of her son and could tell the ladies that the son was fighting in the war.
