THE POEM PAPER BOATS NARRATES THE CHILD'S EXPERIENCE OF FLOATING PAPER BOATS DOWN THE STREAM . THE POET RABINDRANATH TAGORE HAS IMAGINED HIMSELF AS A CHILD . THE POEM IS ON A CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCE AND IS WRITTEN IN RAINY SEASON . THE CHILD IMAGINES THAT SOME OTHER CHILD TRIES TO COMPETE WITH HIS BOATS BY SENDING CLOUDS DOWN THE AIR IN THE SKY . OUT OF CURIOUSITY HE WRITES HIS NAME AND ADRESS ON THOSE BOATS . HE HOPES THAT SOMEWHERE SOMEONE WILL FIND THEM AND KNOW HIM . HE LOADS HIS BOATS WITH SHIULI FLOWERS TO PRESENT HIS UNKNOWN FRIEND WITH VALUABLE GIFTS . HE HOPES THAT THE BOATS WILL CARRY THE FLOWERS SAFELY TO THE DISTANT LAND IN THE MIGHT . AT NIGHT HE SEES THE PAPER BOATS IN DREAMS . HE IS HAPPY TO KNOW THAT ANGELS ARE SAILING IN HIS BOATS . THUS , THE POEM SHOWS TAGORE KEEPS INSIGHT INTO THE CHILD'S MIND .
