No the poet doubt that he averaged come back or not . It is represented in these two lines " Yet knowing how way leads on to way , I doubted if I should ever come back"

the poet was not sure whether he would return to travel on that road someday. he says that he knew one road leds to another. she also new that it might never be possible in the future to save that road.
