Answer:
The poet in this poem by Ruskin Bond looks at the little details of the Cherry tree which he planted.
He is quite impatient with its rate of growth. He goes to visit his grandfather garden in Mussoorie from time to time and notices that his tree has grown.
He noticed a bird flying about when he suddenly realized a small twig with two leaves. Upon discovering his tree which he planted from a year ago, Rakesh, i.e. the narrator started observing it on a daily basis. The notices that the growth of the plant is quite slow.
He then notices how in monsoon season the cherry tree grows faster which is why after monsoon he waters the tree everyday to continue this fast growth.
