Step-by-step explanation:

The point C has coordinates (5,4)

The point D has coordinates (6,1)The point E has coordinates (9,13)

The midpoint of CE is H

= ((5+6)/2, (4+1)/2) = (11/2, 5/2)

The midpoint of DE is I= ((6+9) /2, (1+13/2))

=( 15/2 , 14/2)

Work out distance between point H and I

  = \sqrt{ (\frac{11}{2}  -  \frac{15}{2} ) ^{2} }  + ( \frac{5}{2}  -  \frac{14}{2} ) ^{2}

  =  \sqrt({ \frac{- 4}{2}) ^{2}  }   +  ( \frac{ - 9}{2} )^{2}

 =  \sqrt{ \frac{16}{4} +  \frac{81}{4}  }

 =  \sqrt{ \frac{97}{4} }

 =  \frac{ \sqrt{97} }{2} units
