Given:

The equation of the curve, y=6x-x²

To find:

The point on the curve where the tangent is parallel to the  x-axis

Calculation:

As the tangent is parallel to the x-axis, the slope of the tangent at that point will be zero

=> m = 0

=> dy/dx = 0

=> 6 - 2x = 0

=> 2x = 6

=> x = 3

=> y = 6x-x²

=> y = 6(3) - 3²

=> y = 18 - 9

=> y = 9

The point on the curve is (3,9)
