Given :- the point on the graph of linear equations 4x+7y=21 whose ordinate is 5/3 times it's abscissa is ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Abscissa = x - axis point .
  • ordinate = y - axis point .

given that,

→ y = (5/3) * x

putting value of y in given linear equations 4x+7y=21 ,

→ 4x + 7y = 21

→ 4x + 7(5x/3) = 21

→ 4x + (35x/3) = 21

→ (12x + 35x)/3 = 21

→ (47x/3) = 21

→ 47x = 63

→ x = (63/47)

then,

→ y = (5/3)x

→ y = (5/3) * (63/47)

→ y = (105/47)

therefore, the required point is (63/47, 105/47) .

Given : the point on the graph of linear equations 4x+7y=21 whose ordinate is 5/3 times it's abscissa

To Find : Point

Solution:

linear equations 4x+7y=21

=> 7y = 21 - 4x

=> y    = 3  - 4x/7

abscissa  is x coordinate

ordinate is y coordinate

=> y  = 5x/3

Equate both

=>5x/3    =  3 - 4x/7

=> 5x/3  + 4x/7    = 3

=>   35x  + 12x  = 63

=> 47x  = 63

=>    x  = 63/47

y  = 5x/3    (5/3)(63/47)  =  105/47

Point is ( 63/47 , 105/47 )
