given : x₁ = 4 y₁ = -6 x₂ = 5 y₂ = 2 m = 2 n = 1

to find P(x, y)

Px =(mx₂ + nx₁)/(m+n), Py = (my₂+ny₁)/(m+n)

Px = (2*5 + 1*4)/(2+1) Py = (2*2 - 6)/(2+1)

Px = (10 + 4)/3 Py = (4 - 6)/(3)

Px = 14/3 Py = -2/3

therefore coordinates of P = (14/3, -2/3)

it lies in 4th quadrant
