Step-by-step explanation:

Points (2,1) , (4,2) and (6,a) are collinear

  = \frac{1}{2} [x1(y2−y3)+x2(y3−y1)+x3(xy1−y2)]=0

=1/2[2(2-a)+4(a-1)+6(1-2)=0

=1/2[(4-2a)+(4a-4)+(6-12)=0

=1/2[(-2a+4a)+(4-4+6-12)=0

=1/2[2a-6]=0

=2a-6=2/1

=2a=2/1+6

=2a=8

=a=8/2

=a=4

•The value of a is 4
