Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

(1.) First we will have to find the gradient 'm'

m = (y₂ - y₁/x₂ - x₁)

m = (1 - 5 / 4 - 2)

m = -2

Note: Coordinates used are: (x₂, y₂ = 4, 1), (x₁, y₁ = 2, 5)

The coordinates were put in order by seeing the x of each set, increasing x means the points are going towads right.

(2.) Now we will plug it in to the formula y = mx + c which is equation of straight line

y = mx + c

1 = -2(4) + c

1 + 8 = c

9 = c

Note: Coordinates used are (1,4) however any can be used.

(3.)Now we will put all the variables in the equation

y = mx + c

y = -2x + 9
