The distance between the points A and B is

(2) 29000 units

EVALUATION

Here the distance between the points 25000 and 61000 is divided by 18 equal parts

So ( 61000 - 25000) = 36000 is divided in 18 parts

Each parts = 2000

Position of A

= 25000 + ( 3 × 2000 )

= 25000 + 6000

= 31000

Position of B

= 61000 - ( 4 × 2000 )

= 61000 - 8000

= 53000

Hence the distance between the points A and B

= 53000 - 31000

= 22000
