scores are 17,2,7,27,15,5,14,8,10,24,48,10,8,7,18,28

here we have to arrange these numbers from lowest to highest.

by arranging,

2,5,7,7,8,8,10,10,14,15,17,18,24,27,28,48

as there are even number of numbers, I.e.= 16

so the median will be of, (n/2)th number and {(n/2)+1} th number

here n=16

n/2th number= 16/2= 8th number= 10

{(n/2)+1} th number= (16/2)+1= 9th number= 14

then the median will be= (10+14)/2

=24/2=12

so the median of these scores is 12

Median Value

The Median is the "middle" of a sorted list of numbers.

How to Find the Median Value

To find the Median, place the numbers in value order and find the middle.

Two Numbers in the Middle

BUT, with an even amount of numbers things are slightly different.

In that case we find the middle pair of numbers, and then find the value that is half way between them. This is easily done by adding them together and dividing by two.
