SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The equation of the line where the points with coordinates (0,3) and (8,5) lie on the straight line

EVALUATION

Here the given two points are (0,3) and (8,5)

So the required equation of the line

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{y - 3}{x - 0} =  \frac{5 - 3}{8 - 0}  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:  \frac{y - 3}{x } =  \frac{2}{8 }  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:  \frac{y - 3}{x } =  \frac{1}{4 }  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:  x = 4y - 12  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:  x  - 4y  +  12 = 0  }

Hence the required equation of the line is

 \displaystyle \sf{   x  -  4y  + 12  = 0 }
