The policy of keeping safe distance from both the power blocks of the world is known as Non-Aligned Movement.

EXPLANATION:

After the end of the Second World War in 1945, major powers of the world were divided into two groups, namely Eastern Bloc and the Western Bloc. The Eastern Bloc consisted of Soviet Union and the Western Bloc constituted of United States and its major European Allies.

There was tremendous tension between these two groups but no wars were actually fought between them hence period between 1947 to 1991 was known as period of Cold War.

To avoid this two power blocks there was a movement initiated by then Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru and President of Yugoslavia Josip Broz Tito which was a way to remain neutral in Cold War and to maintain the integrity of the country and were also against Bloc Politics. Presently there are around 120 member countries of this movement.
