according to me,the policy of reservation is not an instance of protective discrimination as it does not work as a protector for discrimination but it is widening the gap among different classes.Reservations may provide them opportunities but do not able to provide equality. perhaps , reservations create inequality among the people of different category. Providing the reservations to lower classes make them separate from the society,it unequally provide them facilities and various other opportunities in the public administrative field.
so reservation is not the instance of protective discrimination.
