the polynomial 3x³+(3a-1)x²-5x+4 and 4x³+5x²-12ax-35 are divided by (x-3) and leaves a same remainder in each case. find the value of a. idiotic answers are not allowed

I feel you question is wrong it should be (x-2) but since u need the answer i think this is correct!

When \tt{3x^{3} + (3a-1)x^{2} - 5x + 4} is divided by (x - 3):

Remainder = 27a + 61

When \tt{4x^{3} + 5x^{2} - 12ax - 35} is divided by (x - 3):

Remainder = 118 - 36a

Equate the remainders:

27a + 61 = 118 - 36a

=> 63a = 57

=> \boxed{\sf{a = \frac{19}{21}}}\\
