The polynomial p(x) =kx^3+9x^2+4x-8 when divided by (x+3) leaves a remainder 10(1-k). Find the value of k.​

Answer:

x+3=0

x=-3

Put in equation,

kx³+9x²+4x-8

k(-3)³+9(-3)²+4(-3)-8

-27k+81-12-8=10(1-k)

-27k+81-20=10-10k

-27k+61=10-10k

61-10=-10k+27k

51=17k

k=51/17

k=3
