Hi ,

It is given that ,

p( x ) = x² + qx + 6

If p( x ) is divided by ( x - 3 ) leaves the

remainder 3

p( 3 ) = 3

3² + q × 3 + 6 = 3

9 + 3q + 6 = 3

15 + 3q = 3

3q = 3 - 15

3q = - 12

q = - 12/3

q = - 4

Therefore ,

q = -4

I hope this helps you.
