Then, the male population will be (50000 - x)
Now, according to the question.
⇒ (50000 - x) × 105/100 + x × (103/100) = 52020
⇒ (5250000 - 105x)/100 + 103x/100 = 52020
⇒ 5250000 - 105x + 103x = 52020*100
⇒ - 2x = 5202000 - 5250000
⇒- 2x = - 48000
⇒ 2x = 48000
⇒ x = 48000/2
⇒ x = 24000
So, female population was 24000
Male population was 50000 - 24000
= 26000
