rate of interest=4%

time=2years

so \\ the \: population \: of \: the \: city \: increase \\ after \: two \: years =  \frac{p \times t \times r}{100}  \\  =  \frac{1200000 \times 2 \times 4}{100}  \\  = 12000 \times 2 \times 4 \\  = 24000 \times 4 \\  = 96000

now

population of the city

after two years=1200000+96000

=1296000

hence the population of the city will be1296000
