Given :-

The population of a district is 20 lakh .

It increases 1.1 % by every year.

To find :-

The population after 1 year.

Solution :-

Given that

The population of a district = 20,00,000

Rate of increasing in the population by every year = 1.1%

Time = 1 year

We know that

Simple Interest = PTR/100

=> Increasing in the population

=> (20,00,000×1×1.1)/100

=> 20,000×1.1

=> 2000×11

=> 22000

The increasing in the population after 1 year

= 22000

Total population after 1 year

= 20,00,000+22,000

= 20,22,000

Alternative Method :-

This is the application problem of the compound Interest

We have,

P = 2000000

T = 1 year

n = 1 time

R = 1.1%

We know that

Amount = P[1+(R/100)]^n

=> A = 2000000[1+(1.1/100)]¹

=> A = 2000000[(100+1.1)/100]

=> A = 20000[101.1]

=> A = 2000×1011

=> A = 20,22,000

Answer :-

The population in the district after 1 year is 20,22,000

Used formulae:-

Simple Interest = PTR/100

Amount = Principal+Interest

Amount = P[1+(R/100)]^n

  • P = Principal
  • T = Time
  • R = Rate of Interest
  • n = Number of times the interest is calculated compoundly.

Answer:

Present population of district =20 lakhs

increasing rate =1.1 % per year

So, population after 1 year =20 lakhs +1.1 % of 20 lakhs

 \\ \tt =2000000+\frac{2000000 \times 1.1}{100}

=2000000+22000

=2022000

=20.22 lakhs
