Answer:

6114071

Step-by-step explanation:

the population of a district was 7000000 in the year 2014. it increased at the rate of 7% per annum .what was its population in year 2012.

Let say population in Year 2012 was X

it increased by 7 % = (7/100) X = 0.07 X

Population in 2013 = Population in 2012 + increase

=> Population in 2013 = X + 0.07X = 1.07X

Now Again 7 % increase = (7/100) (1.07X) = 0.0749 X

Population in 2014 = Population in 2013 + increase

=> Population in 2014 = 1.07X + 0.0749X = 1.1449X

Population in 2014 = 7000000

1.1449X = 7000000

=> X = 7000000/1.1449

=> X = 6114071

Population in 2012 was 6114071
