Hello,

The population of a town has increased from 50000 to 60000.
So, increase in population = 60000-50000= 10000.

So, the percentage increase in population will be-

 \frac{increase \: in \: populatiom}{original \: popultation} \times 100

 \frac{10000}{60000} \times 100
 = 16.66\%
